Matrixed Systems was an exhibition initially running from May 29 to June 29, 2026 at GLO Modern, 45 Market St, New York, NY. It was subsequently extended to July 31, 2026. Afterwards, documentation ceased and a new summary of the preceding weeks was proposed each day for the remainder of the exhibition.
The event unfolded across various indoor settings, initially highlighting individuals interacting with a multitude of electronic devices, including computer monitors, keyboards, laptops, and televisions, often integrated into wall-mounted displays. Early observations documented women operating remote controls and engaging with computers, while one person was seen playing a video game. The scene also captured social dynamics, with groups gathering, conversing, and dancing, alongside more specific actions such as a woman cleaning a room, another painting a computer screen, and a person in a nun's habit traversing a space. A dedicated focus on visual recording was evident as a man filmed with a video camera. Subsequently, the perspective shifted to views from inside vehicles, specifically cars and trains, showcasing reflections and passing exterior scenes. The event then emphasized rooms featuring large white posters or papers displaying text, often alongside prominent black screens. Concluding observations revealed diverse activities in technologically equipped rooms, consistently featuring televisions and windows, where participants engaged in various tasks including exercising on a treadmill, operating projectors, and performing kitchen-related duties.
