Matrixed Systems was an exhibition initially running from May 29 to June 29, 2026 at GLO Modern, 45 Market St, New York, NY. It was subsequently extended to July 31, 2026. This page preserves one record of what happened based on 31,889 observations deemed notable over the course of the first month during which the gallery was actively observed and documented 24/7. Afterwards, documentation ceased and a new summary of the preceding weeks was proposed each day for the remainder of the exhibition.
The event initiated within several electronically-equipped rooms, characterized by numerous computer monitors, keyboards, and other devices, where individuals were observed operating systems and playing video games. Preparatory activities included cleaning and social interactions, with women in white dresses viewing a projector screen and a person dressed as a nun noted in transit. A significant gathering subsequently formed, featuring a crowd observing television screens, conversing, and engaging in games, with a man actively filming the proceedings. This gathering was explicitly noted to have taken place on the first day of the year. Following this social period, the event involved travel, evidenced by views from car windows reflecting street scenes and continuous observations from train windows of tracks and passing environments. The concluding phase detailed various rooms consistently equipped with televisions, prominent windows, and numerous wall-mounted documents or signs, often alongside amenities such as air conditioners and microwaves, indicating a diverse array of functional spaces and ongoing activities.
