Matrixed Systems was an exhibition initially running from May 29 to June 29, 2026 at GLO Modern, 45 Market St, New York, NY. It was subsequently extended to July 31, 2026. This page preserves one record of what happened based on 31,889 observations deemed notable over the course of the first month during which the gallery was actively observed and documented 24/7. Afterwards, documentation ceased and a new summary of the preceding weeks was proposed each day for the remainder of the exhibition.
The event began in environments heavily equipped with electronic devices, including numerous computer monitors, keyboards, televisions, and laptops, frequently mounted on walls or situated on various surfaces. Early observations noted individuals interacting with these technologies, such as a woman at a monitor, another using a remote control, and a person playing a video game. As the event unfolded, groups of people were seen congregating around television screens, engaging in conversation or recreational activities. The settings consistently featured large windows, some equipped with screens or mesh, offering external views that prominently included a long series of passing trains, often reflected in car or train windows. Within these spaces, white walls commonly displayed large pieces of paper, posters, or signs, many bearing text. Additional activities observed ranged from individuals cleaning, painting a computer screen, and working on projectors, to handling boxes, engaging in physical exercise on a treadmill, and utilizing personal devices, all within a dynamic setting characterized by pervasive technological interfaces and transparent window views.
