Matrixed Systems was an exhibition initially running from May 29 to June 29, 2026 at GLO Modern, 45 Market St, New York, NY. It was subsequently extended to July 31, 2026. This page preserves one record of what happened based on 31,889 observations deemed notable over the course of the first month during which the gallery was actively observed and documented 24/7. Afterwards, documentation ceased and a new summary of the preceding weeks was proposed each day for the remainder of the exhibition.
The event began in highly equipped rooms featuring numerous electronic devices, computer monitors, keyboards, and televisions, where individuals, including a woman and a person in a hoodie, were observed operating remote controls and playing video games. These environments sometimes contained detailed setups with computers on counters or tables, and signs on walls. The scene then broadened to include various social interactions, such as women talking, a woman sitting at a counter, and a man near a computer. Unique occurrences included a person dressed as a nun traversing a room, a woman cleaning, and another painting a computer screen. The event, which took place at a hotel on the first day of the year, later shifted its perspective to views through the windows of cars, buses, and trains, detailing reflections and train movements. Subsequently, the narrative returned to indoor settings characterized by large white sheets of paper or posters on walls, often displaying text, alongside computers, laptops, and large screens. The concluding observations focused on diverse activities within these spaces, such as women performing exercises on treadmills, a man with a skateboard, and work involving projectors, all within rooms consistently featuring prominent televisions and windows.
